Home Tutor/Governess Required POSITION FILLED


We are a family of five living on a remote cattle station in Central QLD. We are seeking an honest and fun governess for February 2019.

The Position

We are seeking a Home Tutor for our three children who study through Capricornia School of Distance Education for Feb ’19 start.

As our governess you will become an extended member of our family. It is very important to us that you mesh well with our family and busy lifestyle. You will obviously be spending a lot of time with our children so it is important that we consider you a good role model.

We need someone who can be organized, flexible, creative, enthusiastic, energetic, tidy, routine driven, all with a good dose of fun.

This is an IHC (In Home Care) position and as such there are certain government requirements that need to be met.

You'll need to have, or currently be studying for, either early childhood or primary teaching qualifications. This could be a Cert 3, Diploma or Bachelor (they all qualify). You must also have a blue card; have passed a national police check and have a current CPR & first aid certificate. These can all be easily obtained if you do not have them at present.


•Qualification or working towards a qualification in Early Childhood Education or Teaching

•Senior First Aid and CPR Certificate

•Working With Children Check in our state (can be applied for upon application)

•ABN (can be applied for upon application, usually free)

•Liability Insurance

•Must be 18+ yr old


•Prepare and organise the weekly program and schoolroom

•Supervise the children's work and help as required (but do not do the work for them)

•Supervise and support our children as necessary during school outings

•Teaching 3yo girl eKindy program

•Teaching 5yo boy Prep Distance Ed program

•Organising of extra-curricular activities

•Flexibility with school around mustering etc

•Have lots of fun with the kids

•Before and after school care for both school children and 2yo boy during busy mustering times.

We are looking for someone who is focused on providing our children with a fun, educational and stimulating environment; someone who is well organised, energetic, motivated and flexible. Working hours are generally 50 hrs per week Monday to Friday (these are flexible and will be negotiated). This position may include some childcare outside normal hours at various busy times and is for a minimum of 12 months.


Our property is located 225 km's North West of Clermont in the Isaac Shire. It has a beautiful spring fed river system which runs all year round. It is a beef breeder operation which is 200000 acres in size.
