Home Tutor/ Educator Required for Family Operated Cattle Station near Broome POSITION FILLED

Live and work on a cattle station ~100km from the beautiful beaches of Broome, WA.

We are a family operated cattle station and now seeking our next Home Tutor for our two boys (Y2 and Y5) for an early Feb ’19 start.

Educational activities both curricular and extracurricular are the focus. So if you have a love of the outback, kids and are keen to experience a rustic rural adventure then we would love you to apply. Male applicants are more than welcome to apply


·         Current Manual Drivers License (minimum Australian ‘C’ class or equivalent).

·         Current Federal Police Clearance*

·         Current WA Working With Children Card*

·         Current Australian Provision of First Aid Certificate*

·          Registration as an Educator with In Home Care services*

·         Obtain own ABN and Public Liability Insurance*.

·         Current Medical Certificate*

*Or willingness to obtain prior to employment.


Supervision and support in delivering the school curriculum during school hours. All curriculum and activities are provided through the School of the Air system.

Supervision and development of extra-curricular activities after school hours.

Preparation of meals: morning and afternoon meals and lunches.

Ensuring the school room and other areas of play/meals are cleaned/tidied at the end of each day. This includes engaging the boys in clean up activities too.


Country Downs Station is based in the West Kimberley region of WA, ~100km north of Broome. The station is situated on Cape Leveque Rd in the middle of the Dampier Peninsula.

The proximity of Country Downs to Broome and it’s beautiful pristine beaches and popular social scene means weekends can be spent relaxing or socialising in a new environment away from ‘work’ if desired. In addition, we are only a few hours drive in the other direction from the magnificent coastline and variety of tourist attractions on the Peninsula. We can also negotiate time-off on some school holidays to explore further afield for those interested in seeing the glorious outback sights that make the up the Kimberley region. Single accommodation as well as staff kitchen and ablution amenities are provided so that personal and private down time is available.
