We are seeking our next enthusiastic home tutor to join our cattle station team in the Northern Territory for the 2019 school year.
This is a diverse role including educating two boys through Mt Isa School of the Air as well as contributing more broadly to our dedicated team as required.
This position would suit an energetic individual who is keen for a unique experience. Educating two boys in year 2 and 4 through Mount Isa School of the Air is the primary role, however there are lots of opportunities to get involved in other parts of the operation. The successful Home Tutor will receive an attractive daily rate of pay including self-contained air-conditioned accommodation.
Experience working with children is essential including possession or ability to gain a Working With Children Check clearance prior to commencement.
Applicants must hold a valid drivers licence and your own car would be preferable. Some experience driving off-road would also be an advantage.
You must be fit and active and tolerant to our warm northern climate. A love of cooking would be a great asset!
Key responsibilities include supporting two boys in year 2 and 4 through their School of the Air program.
Outside of school hours jobs around the station can include feeding poddy calves, gardening, some cooking, helping out in the cattle yards and general maintenance. The position is generally five days per week working around a 10 hour day. However, occasional weekend work is required. School holidays can be more flexible if time off is required.
The station is about a three hour drive from Darwin. The property is situated in west Arnhem Land, just next door to Kakadu. It is a beautiful part of the north with some amazing scenery, Aboriginal history and culture.
The property is cut-off by road for several months during the wet season. During this time some air travel is essential. We have a small team of staff on site with more staff coming in on a daily basis from the nearby community.
